The Role

As a Business Development Manager at Prolectric, you will play a crucial role in driving sales growth and expanding our customer base. A confident communicator you’ll be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with prospective customers, to the advantage of our business. 

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop and nurture relationships with new and existing customers to maximise sales opportunities.
  • Meet customer acquisition and revenue targets.
  • Develop and own a sales plan to target and grow your accounts to support the achievement of your annual sales goals.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and client meetings to showcase Prolectric’s products and services.
  • Prepare sales KPI reports and forecasts for use in organisational planning and financial forecasting.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enable the highest level of customer service, adopting appropriate levels of care and support for our customers.
  • Maintain up to date customer, account and sales records in the CRM system to provide full visibility into the sales pipeline at every stage of development.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop strategies for expanding market reach.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and competitor activities to identify new sales opportunities.
  • Provide ongoing training and support to customers as needed.
  • Attend regular sales meetings and training sessions in HQ as required.

Skills & Experience

  • The successful candidate is commercially astute, boasting a successful career of achievement in sales, business development and/or account management roles.
  • Evidence of developing new markets is advantageous.
  • A confident communicator with the ability to present complex information in clear, plain-spoken, simple, and convincing terms (verbal and written).
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Experience of using CRM software to enhance sales performance.
  • Self-motivated and results driven, with the ability to work independently to manage multiple projects and changing priorities effectively in a fast-paced business environment with strict deadlines.
  • A good understanding and experience of the off-grid power and solar lighting market including temporary and permanent lighting would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Keen interest in renewables and sustainability, with a curiosity of emerging trends.
